INWASCON’s Environmental Leadership Award recognizes best environmental leadership each year that consistently demonstrated a commitment to progressive environmental practices across a range of areas. These include solid waste reduction, recycling, waste or energy recovery, the implementation of new ‘clean’ technology and/or processes, or the implementation of an education program.
Recognizing those that are growing their business value through better resource management, valuing nature and/or tackling environmental conservation. The last year has seen some seminal moments for the global environmental agenda. We were delighted to see that many of the entries to the Environmental Leadership Award are at the forefront of thought and action leadership, championing a new approach to managing environmental issues that moves away from reducing negative impacts towards building their business in a ‘smart’ way, so it will be resilient and prosperous for many years to come.
NOMINATION CRITERIA
OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP
Nominee played a significant leadership role in creation, organization, and/or implementation of a new or existing environmental education program, stewardship project, school program, and/or environmental community engagement campaign.
INNOVATIVE APPROACH
Nominee approach is innovative, unique, creative, inclusive, relevant and action oriented. The nominee will inspire others to adopt their innovative approaches.
IMPACT
The nominee’s contributions and impact on its audience/community is noteworthy and nominee can demonstrate evidence of impact. Nominee’s work could be replicated by others.
COMMITMENT TO ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
The nominee is future-minded and committed to continuing and expanding their work to advance environmental education and/or literacy.
